So, for those who dont know, I am actively involved in NESEA (Northeast Sustainable Energy Association) and I am the Co- Track Chair for the Building Energy 12 Conference. I am also a lifetime member of NESEA. The conference is one of the best in the country and the organization is truly a special, inspiring bunch.
We met this weekend for the annual NESEA meeting and to discuss the conference planning. I was happy to see so many friends and take part in many fun things such as walking the highline, a tour of a green building construction site and many hang outs/dinner times.
There are so many young, emerging professionals that I have become friends with. It is inspiring and so exciting. In Buffalo, I can easily be the only one but in NYC, its fun and great to talk and learn with people my age.
Being in New York is refreshing because there is so much going on.. its amazing. The highline was like walking into the future.. I was anxiously awaiting the escalator sidewalks and the ice cream that comes in circles… akthough that didnt happen, the buildings and innovation was very clear.
I was very happy to see so many great public spaces and food carts – something that Buffalo is trying hard to stop. I will be posting a little something about my experiences in New York and how they can help Buffalo create some small, vibrant spaces.
Anyhow, here are the photos.
